ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Endeavor • 2012 - 2014 • Jakarta

Non-profit supporting high-impact entrepreneurship in global markets

I worked directly with the Managing Director to launch Endeavor’s first Asia office. In Indonesia, I identified a diverse portfolio of 5 entrepreneurs and 10 high-profile mentors. In addition, I managed and mentored a team of 4 professionals, and led the Communications and Media strategy to introduce the newly formed organization.

After helping launch the startup, I was called back as a consultant to help develop and oversee the media plan of the international selection panels and annual fundraising gala.

COMMUNICATIONS & DIGITAL MEDIA CONSULTANT

Refuge Point • 2011 • New York & Boston

Nonprofit providing solutions for world’s at-risk refugees

I joined Refuge Point on a project basis, working on campaigns for Refugee Day and Mother’s Day, which grew to include redesigning their communications plan. To develop a more community-driven website and social media plan, I interviewed Sudanese and Congolese survivors to help the public understand their stories, as a person vs a statistic.

DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

YCAB International • 2010 • Jakarta & New York

Nonprofit providing global youth development programs

Being in charge of international development, I ran a country study on Iran and  incorporated YCAB’s international division as a 501C3 in New York. While in the US, I fostered a relationship with DoSomething USA and secured the affiliate partnership for Indonesia. I designed and unified YCAB’s 3 main services, restructured their website, and managed a team of 5 to produce multimedia content for their rebranded website.

ASSOCIATE EDITOR & JOURNALIST

As a Features editor, I assigned stories to and mentored 6 desk reporters and a handful of interns; edited and collaborated with the marketing, editorial, and design team for news layouts. I was a senior reporter for a 12-page Features section and the only roving reporter on staff to cover all desks, including: Business, National News, and Sports. In 2010, I developed 2 weekly columns on social impact and travel, the latter of which led to a book deal.
